The second largest consumer electronics chain in the US has announced the closure and liquidation of 155 of its stores.
In response to the uncertain economy, Circuit City Stores is restructuring its business, by dismissing 17% of its US workforce.
The company will begin a liquidation sale at 155 targeted stores on 5 November and also plans to scale back plans to open further stores until 2010.
The company will continue to operate in 153 US markets and overseas.
