The final frontier 20/06/2008

Prospect exploration, Distribution channels, ubiquitous computing, distribution FAE , BGLOCAL (be global, act local) Just like Star Trek’s James T Kirk, who famously intoned his split infinitive ‘to boldly go’, electronics manufacturers are demanding their distribution partners boldly go where no distributor has gone before. This means constantly seeking out new business opportunities in the marketplace, because in today’s strange new world of electronics innovation, there is no final frontier!
The vast space of distribution reaches many customers, each with a variety of applications. New products are constantly being developed, so distribution must adapt as well. New technologies place demands on the distributors’ technical capabilities. Therefore, exploration is crucial, and not a mission for the faint hearted. As the electronics universe expands, both manufacturer and distributor must respond at a similar rate.
